Taking Uncle Sam for “Grant”ed (2/19/19)
February 19, 2019 - Every year, the Federal Government announces hundreds of millions of dollars in grant awards. Most of these go to non-profit organizations, but businesses are eligible for awards at several Federal Agencies and through the SBIR/STTR program. To win Federal grants, you should not write a proposal – you need to develop one that is complete, compliant, and convincing. To succeed, you must take a sequential set of steps to go from conceptualizing your proposal to submitting it. In other words, you must organize to win. Developing an outstanding Federal grant proposal is hard work. It takes a lot of time and effort. If you do not create and implement a proposal development process, your proposal is not likely to be complete, compliant, and convincing. The quality of your development process will help determine the quality of your proposal. Organize! It will make the difference between winning and losing.
