Procurement Disruptor - OTA (05/28/19)
May 28, 2019 - Some of the more traditional ways of procurement at the federal level include full and open competition (solicitations found on FBO.gov); competitive bids amongst contract vehicle holders (ie. GSA Schedule); set-aside contracts; simplified acquisitions; sole source awards and many others. Other Transaction Authorities (OTA) have been in existence for some time, but have recently gained popularity due it not being governed by the FAR and shortening the delivery time (in some cases by 50%). Winning OTA's requires understanding of the authority, a deeper dive into its genesis, who can participate on government side and vendor side, dollar limits and other "fine print".
