December 17, 2018 -
In recent news, GSA announced their intent to consolidate the 24 existing Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) into one contract vehicle.
The push came from industry and the goal is two-fold:
1 - reduce the obstacles to entry for business (ie. tech start-ups);
2 - make purchasing easier for the agencies.
Existing Schedule holders will be migrated to the new Schedule. New offers will respond to one RFP rather than the existing 24 segmented RFP's.
These changes will occur gradually over FY19 and FY20.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Don't panic. GSA will provide further direction. Existing Schedule holders will migrate with administrative paperwork. Should any SIN (Special Item Numbers) consolidation occur, GSA will provide information on next steps. New Schedule holders will simply respond to the new RFP and select the appropriate SIN's that align to their past performance and skills. It's business as usual, folks.
